To have a green personality means to be natural and authentic from your essence. How is this possible when we have been trained to do the season of giving with competition, jealousy and go, go, go? Not to mention ‘to say all the right platitudes’ that have been taught from the past. And finally, the rules that say eating and drinking the traditions of the season without a thought of ‘is this in my highest and best interest?’
I want to tell you a story of my mother and how she taught me to be dysfunctional at Christmas. I remember as Christmas was approaching the frenzy energy would start to build. My Mother would have expectations that the rest of us would take on her idea of a good holiday. I see that she would whip herself into a frenzy trying to play the role of perfect mother and if my sisters and I didn’t do what she wanted she would be abusive, abrasive and mean. The message was, it was so important to be happy for the holidays, so that she could be a diva. Our job was to perform for her no matter what the emotional cost. As a child, I didn’t realize the contradiction in the training I was getting. On Christmas Eve, after sending us all to bed, I would find her sitting in the middle of the living room floor crying, wrapping presents. She would stay up all night, exhausted and emotionally spent, trying to be the perfect Mom and creating the perfect Christmas. Then after the holidays, She would always be tired and disappointed, because her expectations were impossible to achieve. I always felt that somehow it was my responsibility to make sure my mother was happy for the holidays; as a result, when I got older, I became a participant in this madness! I really thought that this was the way the holidays were supposed to be.
Since I have started clearing on a regular basis, I have been able to see the old patterns and games of the season from a different perspective. What a difference! I can see how my neediness for everyone else’s approval has held me hostage in the games and patterns that mostly belonged to my Mother. Truth; I am not my Mother nor am I willing to put myself into an early grave like she did trying to please everyone else. Today I choose to do what is right for me!
Today, since I have a different perspective of life and the season, I see that by using the essence of who I am, I am creating a green personality. This personality is natural and organic, so when the holidays arrive, I can enjoy them easily, without too much effort. This is my secret to creating balance. Be green with me and enjoy this season!!

Recently, James Arthur Ray, a famous self-help guru and spiritual leader, was convicted of negligent homicide in the deaths of three people during a sweat lodge ceremony. Click here for the Dateline special.
Is he a real guru who was being blamed for an unfortunate accident like he claims?
I am personally very uncomfortable with him. He says many things that I say as a UTUE Teacher, but there is a MAJOR difference. He talks about energy and we talk about energy. He talks about the great potential within a human being and so do we. He talks about the power of our thoughts and we talk about the power of our thoughts and beliefs.
So what is the difference?
The problem is James Arthur Ray connected with his audience at the level of their ego NOT their authentic self.
Your ego is not the source of inner knowing or what we call a Green Personality. Activities and behaviors that build your ego are not sustainable or lasting. Symbolic gestures where you “act” like you are facing your fears do not really overcome those fears. It is a false belief that when you push yourself and drive yourself you become better. This will give you a temporary high, but it ALWAYS wears off. This is not real change. Developing a Green Personality is the only way to embody real change.
Your ego tricks and lies to you, and covers information from your authentic self about what is in your best interest. James Arthur Ray pandered to people’s ego. He would ask people to push their limits by having them cut off their hair, walk on hot coals, and ultimately do a sweat lodge ceremony to the max. Three people died listening to James Arthur Ray, a self professed guru and their own ego.
What is the answer?
When you work with your authentic self and remove the energy of those fears over time it is lasting and sustainable. It is not a quick fix, but has amazing power and clarity because not only do you remove your fears you see yourself more clearly.
Do you need a guru to make change on the inside? How do you know the real gurus from the phonies?
At UTUE we say “Be Your Own Guru.” The best guru you could ever have is your own authentic self that comes from having a Green Personality. However, your ego competes with that authentic part of you and the ego voice is typically louder. The ego looks outside itself for validation and is attracted to gurus with a public reputation. UTUE Teachers guide you to that natural place that is the best guru you could ever have. We don’t become the gurus for you, we teach you to let your inner knowing be the guru that is unique to you and knows what is best for you.
UTUE is a non-profit dedicated to helping our students become their own gurus. Not with showy symbolic exercises or dangerous stunts, but by creating lasting, sustainable change.
Earlier this month, Patricia shared her life story before she embodied a Green Personality. Let’s take a look at an example to show you how you can aid your own anti-aging process.
How we suppress our body’s nudges and stay stuck in limiting perspectives.
Remember Patricia’s story about her pancreatitis? She overcame this chronic condition by changing the energy connected to it, which led to renewal of her mind and body.
Meet Jane: in her late 80’s, and has suffered from stomach pain for the past few decades. Her doctor has her on medications to suppress the pain. Two weeks ago she was not feeling right, so she was admitted to the hospital. The doctors decided to operate to remove her gallbladder. Much to everyone’s surprise, her gallbladder was gangrene. Jane suppressed her body’s nudges through the years, and found a way to survive, however, a Green Personality listens to the nudges and seeks to find the underlying cause. Jane is alive today, but this limited perspective kept her from listening to what her body was trying to tell her all those years. Had Jane listened, she would probably still have her gallbladder today.
If you are always seeing life in the same perspective, it is easy to become narrow-minded. Patricia found out that by changing her perspective about her ‘disease’, she could overcome her doctor’s predicted outcome. This is the mind body connection at work that comes from having a Green Personality.
What are some of the benefits of uncovering your Green Personality?
Patricia attributes developing her Green Personality to overcoming debilitating disease, and having a life that is sustainable and renewable. This does not mean that she no longer has challenges; challenges are a part of life. What it means is that as the challenges present themselves, she is able to react in a way to maintain inner balance and harmony. You can do this by:
- Learning to trust yourself
- Listening to the nudges and refusing to suppress them
- Changing and expanding your perspective
Developing a Green Personality is the best anti-aging therapy for a happy, fulfilling life.
Last week we talked about the anti-aging personality. In this post, we’re applying this same concept in the business world in the form of Natural Leadership.
The best anti-aging remedy for Apple is to develop their culture the same way we develop a Green Personality: by changing the energy and by resisting too much programming. If Apple adopts the ways of a Green Personality, it can sustain and renew itself continuously.
The question in everyone’s mind is whether Apple can continue it’s innovative leadership without Steve Jobs. If they try to imitate or program others with his vision, creativity, and style, it’s likely that Apple will get old and stuck in the past.
Current leadership development is based on approaches that program and imitate great leaders. It is based on the false belief that modeling or acting like a great leader will help others bring out their best capabilities. It is common practice to use lists of traits that say creative people “act” this way. This type of practice is actually programming in disguise, and these methods often stifle and block true development of creativity.
There is no doubt that Apple and business schools across the country will have a proliferation of instruction manuals for Jobian culture and vision. Unfortunately, this is the wrong approach because it does not allow individuals to develop their own inner voice and intuition.
Even Steve Jobs said in his famous Stanford Commencement address “Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice, heart, and intuition.” Yet traditional ways of developing leaders drown out and suppresses their inner voice, heart, and intuition through programming and imitation.
How do you preserve and develop your own inner voice heart and intuition? By removing the energetic blocks and barriers to it. Developing a Green Personality and becoming a Natural Leader are energetic processes that reveal you to yourself. It gives you access to the same resources that Steve Jobs was able to access. These resources of creativity, vision, and intelligence are infinite and available to everyone who uncovers them.
Steve Jobs was a genius that naturally was able to connect with resources that are infinite. The solution for Apple is not to clone Jobs but to help their management develop unique connections to the same resources that Jobs was able to access. This is a Green Personality becoming a Natural Leader – a process that works by removing the negative energy that blocks access to creativity, vision, and intelligence.
As an Intuitive Leadership Coach, I have helped many leaders create a Green Personality by developing their natural creativity, intuition, and vision. I “see” how it works and I help others do the same.
To Apple and the World – honor the man and his genius by developing your own creativity, vision, and natural leadership abilities!
This month, our Director and Teacher Patricia Rohn will be 60 years young. Those who know Patricia are amazed at her energy, youthfulness, mental clarity, and emotional intelligence.
Why is it that she is so healthy and able to teach five exercise classes a week on top of working with students full-time?
It is because Patricia embodies what we call a Green Personality.
Simply put, a Green Personality renews and sustains positive behaviors and effectiveness over long periods of time. It develops and grows over time and is better with age. A Green Personality supports a healthy body because it is natural for both the essence (soul) and the body to work in harmony. This is what is commonly known as the mind body connection.
A Green Personality uncovers essence by removing negative energy. It is an energetic process. The opposite of a Green Personality is programming and training where the essence is not considered. Too much programming in the form of behaviors and patterns creates a toxic environment that leads to disease, toxicity, and aging of the body and mind.
Patricia’s journey to a Green Personality was not an easy one. A naturally gifted child, her intuitive and artistic abilities where quashed by her mother’s jealousy and rage. Patricia learned early on that she would be abused if she competed with her, and as a result, she grew up with a lot of guilt, shame and anger about her unique talents. These negative emotions manifested in her physical body in the form of rheumatoid arthritis and pancreatitis, two extremely debilitating and chronic conditions.
“When I was 22 I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). I had a nodule removed from my thyroid and two weeks later I woke up with my knee the size of a small melon. After many tests they concluded that I had RA, and the doctor said it was aggressive and moving quickly and intensely. He said that I would live in a wheel chair by the time I was 30 years old. In my bold way, I expressed my dissatisfaction and he said I didn’t have to be angry. I told him I was a dancer and this diagnosis was a crushing blow to me. The wheel chair never happened. I started to watch my diet and became a vegetarian and started to exercise. I was told to avoid white sugar and white flour.
However, later I started having pain after eating certain foods like French fries, processed foods, and chocolate. I was losing my appetite and was avoiding foods that had lots of fat. My family doctor suggested Prozac because he couldn’t find anything wrong. I was in continuous pain like a toothache in the center of my body and I wasn’t eating and losing weight. I was so miserable life wasn’t attractive. I went to a specialist who diagnosed the pancreatitis. He told me ‘you need to stop drinking’! But I had stopped drinking five years earlier! I told him I didn’t drink but he didn’t believe me. The doctor prescribed medication and I started to feel better, but I had constant diarrhea and I had to organize my life around bathrooms because I couldn’t trust that I could go somewhere and not have an attack. Although the medications helped a little, it was extremely expensive and I had to prepare all my own meals because if I ate the wrong thing I would have such severe diarrhea that it would put me in the hospital. My life revolved around this disease and limited me in profound ways.
After 10 years, I remember the doctor said ‘I don’t know how you’ve made it this far and if things don’t change you’ll be lucky if you make it another year.’ I was angry and afraid I was going to die. Most people die from pancreatitis within the first six months. Five years into my pancreatitis I was in a car accident while training for a new job. The accident shattered my knee and I was unable to work for five years. This was the same knee that my RA was diagnosed. I had a difficult time walking and even after five years, when I met Jason, I was walking with a limp. Being able to just walk let alone lead exercise classes seemed out of the question.”
Like most of us, Patricia was trained to cope with what was going on in her life by eliminating the problem. However, simply eliminating the problem is never a solution. For real change to occur, the energy surrounding the problem needs to change.
In 1999 Patricia met Jason Rohn, Executive Director of UTUE, and after incorporating the Clearing Process and a whole foods diet, she made a most amazing recovery.
“Jason asked me if I would like him to help me with my emotions. I said sure, not believing that he could help me or if this process really worked. As we started to do what he called ‘clearing’, the most amazing things started to happen! I started sleeping through the night. For over six years I lived in constant pain, not only from the pancreatitis, but also from the car accident I was in. This was so amazing to me! As we continued to clear, I noticed that the colors all around me were more vibrant and I felt like I was walking on air. My life truly changed overnight.”
Food is an excellent example of the exchange of energy. Foods that have been processed (which is 90% of what grocery stores sell) are dead and lack the life force that they originally had when they were whole. Eating these foods and their energy of processing and machines creates imbalances for the ecosystem of the human body. This is why a holistic approach to nutrition is a synergistic partner to the Clearing Process.
At UTUE, we teach students how to use our unique Clearing Process to remove these negative energies so they can embody a Green Personality. Clearing allows you to see the barriers that are standing in your way so you can get what you need, want, and desire that is in alignment with the purpose of your essence.
